An animal dies in life, and a human lives in death. The animal within me is dear.
No elephant has ever composed a poem, painted a picture, or created music about a human’s death. We humans turn to art to soothe our sorrow. These artworks remind us of the 2016 elephant massacre and the decline of the human spirit. The truth is, we aren’t even dear to ourselves.
